Does OpenVidu/KMS support “cascading” media servers or geographically distributed media servers

For example, Media Server in North America, Media Server in Europe, Media Server in Asia. Central OVPro server in Europe. Can clients connect to the closest media server (via geoDNS CNAME, for example) and the media servers communicate with each other. This is implemented by another platform.

The idea is that the media server to server-server communication is much more reliable that several Singapore end users hitting a media server in Europe, or a handful of US end users hitting a media server in Asia.

Happy to engage in testing this deployment.

It is in our roadmap, by currently OpenVidu doesn’t allow connecting participants to the closest media server.

If this feature is critical for your business, you can consider give your economic support to prioritize its development.
