Hi all, I was wandering if for the HA deployment on AWS are available this two features that I can use inside the Meet App link.
Furthermore I would like to know if there is any possibility to customize the prejoin page and the settings component.
Thank you, Matteo.
Hi Matteo,
Just to clarify: are you referring to customizing these features in OpenVidu Meet, or are you saying you want to customize OpenVidu Components (Angular)?
Hi Carlos, I’ve an HA deployment that uses the “Openvidu Platform” mode with my own customizations using Angular Components (OpenVidu Components Angular Documentation).
Hope I’ve clarified your doubts.
Thank you, Matteo.
Great, thanks for the clarification — that helps a lot.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but what you’re asking is whether, when using OpenVidu Components (Angular), there is a way to add the same functionality that OpenVidu Meet already provides out of the box, right?
The customization you’re referring to is included in our roadmap for OpenVidu Meet, but not for OpenVidu Components at the moment.
Would OpenVidu Meet fit your use case, or are you not considering switching solutions at this point?
Hi Carlos, few days ago I’ve switched from OV 3.1 to the latest version, however I didn’t touched my angular project because I already have implemented all the customizations my company needs in the previous version.
In my project I use the “openvidu-angular-components” library as described on your website.
After the HA deployment on AWS I saw in my “Secret manager” that I had available the Openvidu Meet App and I took a look at the solution and I saw that there were features that on angular components I couldn’t find.
So, what I’m asking is if I want to use the “Theme” and “Adjust layout” features for my case I just need to implement myself, right?
Greetings, Matteo.
Thanks for the detailed explanation, Matteo.
I’d like to better understand your use case and your current needs. Could you please share what customizations you are currently using, which ones you consider essential for your business, and which additional ones you would like to have?
This information would help us evaluate how OpenVidu Meet could better fit your requirements and allow us to prioritize adding these capabilities to provide a more complete solution compared to the current Angular Components.
If you prefer not to share sensitive information in a public forum, feel free to contact us at commercial@openvidu.io and we can discuss your requirements privately.
Hi Carlos,
right now there are no sensitive informations, so it’s fine continuing in the public forum, maybe it could help other users.
Basically, what I’ve done with my project is to use the <ov-videoconference> component and add some features just related to the business my company is in. Here is what I’m talking about:
As you can see in the picture, there are lots of customization that helps me handle all the requested features of my company and our customers.
With the newer version I noticed that you’ve implemented the “Adjust layout” feature and I would like to use it in my project as well.
So, from the newer version of the "openvidu-components-angular": "^3.5.0" library I got the new pre-join page style:
And I would like that on my “More options” menu I can see the “Adjust layout“ features, as I can see it in the “Openvidu Meet” application.
Is that possibile or is it developed just for “Openvidu Meet”?
Greetings, Matteo.
Thank you, Matteo.
These features are currently available only in OpenVidu Meet.
Enhancing customization capabilities in OpenVidu Meet is part of our roadmap. Our goal is to match—and even surpass—the level of flexibility and simplicity offered by the OpenVidu Components Angular library.
Regards.
Carlos
Hi Carlos,
I would like to ask if you can also thinking about making the “pre-join page“ and “settings” components as customizable as others components are.
Thank you, Matteo.
We will include in our roadmap support for customizing the settings and the pre-join page in OpenVidu Meet, so they can be tailored to the customer’s specific needs.
However, this is not currently included in our roadmap for OpenVidu Components.
