Are Chat messages recorded any where?
Not automatically. A signal server-side event is scheduled for the near future (you will be able to register any signals sent by the clients in your CDR or your Webhook), but for now the easiest solution is to send to your application’s backend the very same message that users are sending through Session.signal method in the client side.
