We did not test this kind of the environment in a private subnet. There are parts of the code which assumes Internet connection, for example: IPs autodiscovery. Also WebRTC applications needs to be accessible using https, so this could lead to problems on browsers which validates certificates based on domain names.
Is it possible?
Maybe yes, maybe not, but you can try to play with the deployment and if you’re able to deploy in a private subnet, share with us the results in this post for other people interested in such networking conditions.
