Suitable Linux Server Config for Deployment

Can somebody provide me the suitable Linux server configuration to deploy Openvidu On premise?

Also, can you give some info about video quality while hosting On premise and points to be considered while hosting On-premise.

Thanks in advance

Hello,

It’s recommended to run on a server with at least 2 (virtual) CPUs / cores and 2GB of RAM (more the better).

If you want to do video recordings then you also need some substantial disk space - I think that the AWS CloudFormation template has a 100GB storage. Warning that recording in COMPOSITE mode will use a lot of CPU!

Then you need to follow the instructions from here.

Video quality is great for 720p video as long as there’s enough bandwidth between the media server and peers. It can be changed from the defaults (min 300Kbps, max 1000Kbps). If you set these to 0 (zero) in the config file then it will use as much bandwidth as there’s available.

Cheers,
Mihail
