Record single user in entire session

Is there a way I can record single user instead of recording all the publishers?

That would have been my question too. I want to record one specific publisher. How can I accomplish this?

Currently it is not possible. You have to record all participants with INVIDUAL mode and then discard the files from participants you don’t want.

OK. No prob. Thx for the reply

Hi Micael,

you said currently it is not possible. Would a custom layout be a workaround?

Wo have a similar case:

  1. person LF with a smartphone, sharing the camera
  2. person ZE with browser, watching the camera from stream
  3. LF and ZE talk to each other
  4. Required recording: video LF, audio LF, audio ZE

We planned to create a custom layout where only stream from LF is shown in fullscreen and the stream from ZE is set to display none. Right thoughts or wrong way?

Maybe the tread opener can do something similar?

Yes, you can do it with COMPOSED recording with a custom layout.

Remember that COMPOSED recording consumes much more resources than INDIVIDUAL recording.

OpenVidu PRO now allows to recording specific participants in INDIVIDUAL mode: OpenVidu Docs
