# Option to only record host

Considering openVidu but looking for a little more info. Is there an option to record only the host? For example, for group fitness classes we’d like to offer group conference of many-to-many and allow the instructor to see and communicate with all, but only record the instructor. We’d also like an option for the instructor to see all, but the participants to only see the instructor? Is this possible? Is it something my development team will be able to implement using openVideu? If not, I’d like to add it as a “Feature Request.”

There is no a clean way to do it, but you can implement it in two ways:

- Use INDIVIDUAL recording and simply delete videos you don’t want. It is easiest way to do it.

- Use COMPOSED recording and implement a custom layout so only host is visible. It is more complex to do and more resource consuming.
