# Audio-only session

Is it possible to call initPublisher for audio only so that the camera light on a laptop remains off?

Hi @jeffma,

For sure, you only have to set _ **videosource** _ property to **false** or **null**.  
Please, check the [PublisherProperties documentation](https://openvidu.io/api/openvidu-browser/interfaces/publisherproperties.html#videosource)

thanks for the quick response. Another question: for audio-only stream, does the subscriber still use the “video” tag to listen to it?

You could use [audio](https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTML/Element/audio) tag instead for audio only media streams.
